I captured this photo at the end of a grueling photo trip in the South Cascade Mountains of Washington State in the Pacfic Northwest. The day before, I hiked over 19 mountainous miles, so standing in this icy river creating waterfall photography wall art was the perfect thing for my overworked feet. 
 
The trick for most waterfall photography is using a long shutter speed, which makes the flowing water look smooth and silky. However, I needed a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion on the surface of the water, making it possible to see the beautifully colored rocks in the riverbed. So, I shot both fast and slow shutter speeds and combined the two exposures to create this one perfect waterfall photography artwork for sale.
