Beach Photography that Expands the Horizon
 
This exquisite vertical beach photography art piece was the one and only gallery worthy image I brought back with me from a grueling 4-day backpacking trip on the “Wildcatter” portion of the Olympic Coast. Getting this unique vertical beach wall art made the whole trip worth it though. Much of the 17 miles of wilderness coastline in the Olympic National Park is only accessible by foot. It consists of stretches of beaches separated by tall land outcroppings called “heads” that either have to be climbed over or rounded at low tide. The overland passages often involve over 100-foot climbs on such steep terrain that ropes, or rope ladders are required. Unencumbered, these assents and descents would be much simpler, but when carrying 40 pounds of backpacking gear and 20 pound of nature landscape photography gear, things get trickier.
 
Nevertheless, any time spent along the Pacific Ocean in the wilderness is pure magic for this Pacific Northwest nature photographer. And when the moment came to create this clouds and beach photography art, I was in heaven.
